Perfect for first-time Ladakh travellers, this route includes acclimatisation in Leh, the scenic Sham Valley circuit, the dramatic drive over Khardung La, a day trip to Turtuk (Balti village near LOC), and the breathtaking Pangong Lake before returning to Leh via Chang La.

Itinerary
Arrive at Leh Airport (11,500–12,500 ft approx.) and transfer to your hotel in Leh town. The day is kept easy for altitude acclimatisation. In the evening, enjoy a relaxed walk around the Leh Market and visit Shanti Stupa for panoramic views of Leh and surrounding mountains.
Overnight: Leh
After breakfast, drive along the Indus River on the Leh–Srinagar highway for the Sham Valley experience. Visit the Hall of Fame Museum, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, and the famous Magnetic Hill. Continue to the beautiful Sangam viewpoint (confluence of Indus & Zanskar Rivers). Return to Leh by evening.
Overnight: Leh
After breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass (one of the highest motorable passes). Descend into the stunning Nubra landscape—often called the Valley of Flowers. On arrival, check in at Hunder and later visit Diskit Monastery. Spend time at the Hunder Sand Dunes and enjoy an optional Bactrian double-humped camel safari (direct payment).
Overnight: Nubra Valley (Hunder)
After breakfast, proceed for a day trip to Turtuk, a beautiful Balti village close to the Indo-Pak border region (opened to tourists after 1971). Explore the village’s unique culture and landscapes. Visit Thang (LOC viewpoint) (subject to permissions and local conditions). Return to Hunder by evening.
Overnight: Nubra Valley (Hunder)
After an early breakfast, depart for Pangong Lake via the scenic Shyok route. Enjoy incredible views of the Shyok River valley and the rugged Karakoram landscape. Reach Pangong by afternoon and witness the magical colour changes of the lake at sunset.
Overnight: Pangong Lake (Camp/Hotel)
After breakfast, drive back to Leh via Chang La Pass. En route, visit Shey Palace, the famous Rancho School (Druk White Lotus School photo stop), and Thiksey Monastery. Arrive in Leh by evening and enjoy leisure time in the market.
Overnight: Leh
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Leh Airport for your onward journey with unforgettable Ladakh memories.
