Itinerary

Begin your Himalayan journey from Chandigarh, driving through Shimla’s pine forests and apple orchards to the serene hill town of Narkanda (approx. 9,000 ft). Enjoy the crisp mountain air and peaceful surroundings. Overnight: Narkanda

Descend into the Sutlej Valley near Rampur and continue along the Indo-Tibet Highway. Cross the Karcham Dam at the confluence of the Sutlej and Baspa rivers before entering the lush Sangla Valley, one of Himachal’s most scenic regions. Overnight: Sangla

Drive to Chitkul, the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibet border in this region. Walk along the Baspa River and enjoy panoramic views of snow-capped peaks. Later, proceed to Kalpa, famous for spectacular views of the Kinner Kailash range, especially during sunset and sunrise. Overnight: Kalpa

Enter the high Himalayas as greenery gives way to Spiti’s dramatic cold desert landscape. Visit Nako Lake and continue to Gue Village to see India’s naturally preserved mummy. Reach Tabo, home to the 1,000-year-old Tabo Monastery, renowned for its ancient murals and frescoes. Overnight: Tabo

Explore Dhankar Monastery, perched dramatically on a cliff overlooking the Spiti River. Continue to Lhalung to visit the beautiful Serkhang (Golden) Monastery, then drive into Pin Valley to reach Mud Village, a gateway to ancient trade routes and trekking trails. Proceed to Kaza, the administrative hub of Spiti. Overnight: Kaza

Visit the iconic Key Monastery, Spiti’s largest and most photographed gompa. Explore the high-altitude villages of Kibber and Chicham, crossing the spectacular Chicham Bridge, one of Asia’s highest suspension bridges. Overnight: Kaza

Drive across Spiti’s high plateau to Hikkim, home to the world’s highest post office. Continue to Komic, among the highest motorable villages in the world, and then to Langza, known for fossils and a giant Buddha statue overlooking the valley. Overnight: Kaza

Begin early and drive via Losar to cross Kunzum Pass. Take a detour to the breathtaking Chandratal Lake, famous for its crystal-clear waters and reflections. Continue through Batal, Chhatru and Gramphu, cross Rohtang Pass, and descend into the lush Kullu Valley to reach Manali. Overnight: Manali

Drive back to Chandigarh with unforgettable memories of Spiti’s landscapes, monasteries, and high-altitude adventures. Tour Ends
